Medical Team
The Consultant leads your medical team
With that team they ensure you are well enough to participate in rehabilitation and work with other healthcare professionals to direct your rehabilitation.
- The Consultant works directly with you via ward rounds, and those times are important for you to participate in.
- Check when the ward rounds occur, so you can make sure you are present on the ward. This will be identified on your weekly timetable.
Ward Doctors and Physician Associates (PAs)
- The ward doctors and Physician Associates (PAs) are part of the Consultant’s team and will review your health needs when there is a medical problem.
- The medical team will review and discuss your injury, its severity and the potential for the future.
- Discussion with your family is only performed with your consent and should be in your presence.
- The medical team meet regularly with the other members of your treating team and can attend the goal planning meetings to ensure your rehabilitation progress is active.
- Once discharged, you will be seen by the medical team for annual review in the spinal outpatient department.
The Consultant Team
The Consultant team at the NSIC are:
- Consultants: Dr A Graham, Mr M Belci, Mr W Ahmed, Dr A Naidoo, Mr Swarna and Dr S Hariharan
- Physician Associates: Mrs V Mokri and Ms A Saltmarsh
- Associate Specialist: Dr Rajan is our Associate specialist, who works in the Outpatient department.
- We have many other doctors who rotate through the department as part of training for specialist qualifications.
