Supporting you during rehab

It is likely that you will have fluctuating emotions over the months.

    • Some days you may feel positive about small amounts of progress
    • The next day everything will feel frustrating and nothing will be right.
25th anniversary of the new unit (2008)
Your injury will have been a big shock and a loss, both emotionally and physically, and you may sometimes feel withdrawn and not want to communicate  for periods of time.
    • Although this might feel hurtful to others, these feelings are perfectly natural for someone coming to terms with their injury and learning to adapt to the many changes and challenges that it brings.
All SCI Centres will have a Clinical Psychologist or health professional trained to help people face the consequences of their injury

You will be encouraged to talk through the feelings you have about yourself or your future.
